SUMMARY:

The Web Analyst is an integral new role in the Direct Sales Team.  As the Web Analyst for Outdoor Research not only will you bring a love for the outdoors, but you'll have a passion for understanding customer behavior and the ability to leverage data.  Your keen analytical skills will deliver insights to improve the customer experience and drive the revenue and profitability of Outdoor Research's e-commerce business.  You'll be responsible for developing and publishing business KPIs and dashboards, as well as ensuring that data is accurate and actionable.  Your love for understanding the customer and increasing lifetime value will drive you to continually analyze customer behaviors to help optimize marketing, merchandising and customer acquisition campaigns.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure consistent tracking, analysis and reporting of core website KPIs in various weekly and monthly Dashboard formats (page views, clicks, conversion, etc.).
  • Create dashboards by pulling data from different sources for presentations to Leadership, Direct Sales and Marketing teams.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to increase site conversion and drive site improvements.
  • Identify traffic trends by channel, abandonment issues and opportunities for improving site conversion.
  • Create ad hoc reports on as needed basis to quantify the impact of content strategy, marketing initiatives and merchandise efforts and new site features.
  • Research and recommend enhancements to web design/functions and site processes.
  • Implement/improve website tagging process, and be responsible for the QA effort of all creative and functional tagging throughout the site.
  • Assist with the creation of A/B and MVT tests and provide reporting and analysis of test results.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to assist with data collection, reporting and tagging.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum BA or BS with strong analytical skills.
  • Minimum 4-5 years reporting/analysis experience at an online retailer, ecommerce setting, publisher, online agency or like environment.
  • Significant experience with Google Analytics, Coremetrics, Omniture, or similiar web analytic tools.
  • Experience with a BI tool like Tableau and/or Power BI is required.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and SAP is a strong plus.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and creative problem solving skills.
  • Strong data interpretation; ability to summarize and present complex findings clearly and concisely with key takeaways to various management levels.
  • Highly adept with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to lead projects effectively and with minimal supervision and a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt and respond with a sense of urgency in a fast paced and evolving working environment.
  • Excellent communication skills is a must, including the ability to breakdown complex concepts and interface with executive leadership as well as developers.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player and drive results.
